Independents Day & the Start of Summer

Hooray! We had a fabulous day, celebrating all our independents here in Lancaster over the weekend.

For those who didn't know last weekend was National Independents Day, it's a growing thing to help shine a light on small businesses and encourage people to shop small and shop local. So firstly I should say, thank you to all for continuing to support us. It means a great deal.

We decided to produce an independent's Guide as well as a free tote bag listing all our independents this year, a little thank you for shopping local! Holly Tucker, the 'Not On The High Street' founder and amazing campaigner for small business was my inspiration. She ran a brilliant 'Shop Small Show Love' online campaign this year which encouraged people to tag, like, share and leave a review. Reminding us that we don't always have to buy and that there are other ways to support small business.

The summer season is upon us which means the big outdoor fleas and fairs are here again my favourite time of the year! Which in turn means lots of vintage treasure will be arriving soon. Also Some delicious new products will be also coming in. Maileg Hiker Mice, Emma Bridgewater Tea in the Garden trays and Susie Watson Foxglove pitchers to name a few.
